Data Protection is very important to us at Spotlight Business Improvement and we would like to be transparent and  clear about how your personal data is used when you visit our site. We follow GDPR guidelines.  This notice explains how we use personal when visiting our site. It explains your rights and specifies the different ways we we collect your personal data.

1.1 Newsletter and Contact Forms

When you contact us via the newsletter subscription or use our contact forms, we collect the personal information you submit.  This information can include your name, contact number and email address. We use this information to contact you if you have asked a question for instance, or to provide you with other information like our newsletter.  We also use this information to help us with for reporting and marketing.

1.2 Cookies and Web Analytics

As part of  your web browsing session, we have access to information such as your IP Address and the web browser type you used. We may use this information to improve how our site works and looks.

We use Zoho Sales IQ to provide the Chat Box functionality and Zoho Campaigns to manage the newsletter subscriptions.

Our site uses Google Analytics to track how you interact with our site. We use this data to see what content is most useful to our users and to ultimately make better content for our site.

1.3 Blog Comments

If you submit a comment on one of our Blog posts, the email address and name you used will be collected along with the IP Address you used.  Only the name you used appears on the public post itself.   The comment you submitted and its data will remain on our site until we either delete the comment or remove the post form our blog.  We do not share this information with third party Data Processors.

We use the following 3rd party Data Processors on our site. We have chosen them carefully as they comply with the EU GDPR 2018. All are based in the USA and are also confirmed as compliant with the EU-US Privacy Shield.

3.0 Your rights

You have the right to request a copy of your personal data that we hold.

You have the right to access your personal data and to request a change to that personal data should there be any errors.

You have the right to object to the use of your personal data and the right to block any particular uses of your personal data.

You also have the right to have your personal data erased completely in certain circumstances.

4.0 Data Breach

If personal data stored in our site’s database or in one of our 3rd party data processors’ databases, in an identifiable manner, has been breached, we will assess the impact on any data subjects immediately.  Then if necessary we will report any unlawful data breach to any and all relevant data subjects and authorities within 72 hours of the breach.
